Yes, using Scanner Groups. Assigning items to a scanner group means only scanners in that group can offer those items, so a device at the registration desk and a device in a sponsor lounge can each show a completely different set of giveaways. If an item isn't included in a scanner's group, it simply doesn't appear on that device.

Yes. Turning on access control for an item lets you build eligibility rules from any field on the attendee's registration record — for example, badge type, company, or sponsorship tier. You can require an attendee to meet every condition (AND) or just one (OR). If someone doesn't qualify, the scanner tells staff on the spot, so the wrong item is never handed out by mistake.

Yes. The Registrants page can be filtered by Company Name, Display Name, Email Address, ID, or Items — filtering by Items shows you every attendee who received a particular giveaway, which is useful for reconciling sponsor commitments or checking inventory against what's actually gone out the door.

Yes. The ShowUp™ Giveaway Dashboard shows total items distributed, how many items and scanners are configured, and a live breakdown of distribution by item, filterable by time range — All time, Today, Last hour, Last 24 hours, or Last 7 days. It also shows scanner status, including battery level and last activity, so you can spot a device going offline before it becomes a problem.

Yes. Marking an item as a sponsored item and linking it to an exhibitor means every scan of that item is automatically captured as a lead on that exhibitor's leads page. Exhibitors get contact data and credit for what they gave away without doing any extra scanning themselves.

An organizer configures each giveaway item in the ShowUp™ portal before the event, including what information staff must capture and who qualifies. On-site, staff or volunteers use the Giveaways scanner app on a phone or handheld device to scan an attendee's badge and log the item as given. Every scan updates a live dashboard, so organizers can see distribution activity in real time throughout the event.

The Scanner Status panel on the Giveaway Dashboard lists every connected scanner along with whether it's currently active, its last reported battery level, and when it was last used — so a device that's gone quiet or is running low on power is visible immediately, not discovered after the fact.

The scanner tells staff the attendee doesn't qualify for that item, and it can't be assigned. Access control always takes priority regardless of which scanner or scanner group is being used, so eligibility rules are enforced consistently across every station at the event.

ShowUp™ Giveaways is a module of the ShowUp™ event platform that tracks physical items handed out at an event, such as t-shirts, tote bags, water bottles, or serialized devices. Organizers set up each item and who's eligible to receive it, and onsite staff scan an attendee's badge to record what that attendee got — giving organizers a live record of who received what, when, and from which station.

Any physical item — from simple swag like t-shirts and water bottles to serialized, high-value items like phones or loaner devices. Each item can be configured with a capture type: Text, Textbox, Radio, Dropdown, Checkboxes, Yes/No, or Barcode. Barcode is the type to use for anything serialized, since it ties one specific physical unit to one specific attendee.
